Ploy-Painting – Zbrush 3.1
At first I wasn’t going to Poly-Paint, I had to skip the Practical Light and Colour tutorial because of time issues and because of my basic colour theory knowledge.
But thanks to my peers I was convinced to at least have a go. I decided to treat it like it was a Warhammer miniature, which I have had previous experience at painting.
I started with a couple of practises to get to know what I could and couldn’t do.

Step By Step
Now I was ready to start the Final paint job. I started by Painting in the base colours, making sure I had the relevant research. I also made a colour pallet in Photoshop so I could keep the RGB numbers just in case I needed them later on, I found this very useful.
I also roughly painted over one of my consept images when I chose a colour for the frist time, to make sure it worked as the right skin tone.

Once the base tones were down it was just a case of building up the colours by painting on top of the crevices. It was a lot of trial and error with painting. I only had about two days to paint my model but in that time I learnt a lot about Poly-Painting and when I get the time and after I’ve gone through the Practical Light and Colour DVD I will go back and try painting my model again.
below are the step by stem images.
